Donna D. (Howard) Craig

Mrs. Donna (Howard) Craig, age 91, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on January 17, 2026 at the Beehive Residential Home where she was lovingly cared for. She was born on December 17, 1934 in El Reno, Oklahoma. She was the loving daughter of the late Ivan and Frances Johnson Howard. She lived her early life in Oklahoma where she met Donald Craig when he was stationed there in the Navy. They were united in marriage on December 22, 1952 in Oklahoma City and then lived in Pensacola City, Florida where Craig was stationed at Cory Naval Field. The couple then moved to Scottsburg in 1954 and bought the farm where they always called home. This happy union of nearly 50 years was blessed with three daughters, Rica Diane, who died in infancy and then Cheryl Jean and Christy Ann. Donna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Vienna Baptist Church, the Vienna Extension Homemakers' Club, the Pilot Club of Scott County and the Kiwaniannes. Donna was employed at the former Scott County State Bank for over 20 years and retired in 1989. She enjoyed many activities and trips with her beloved sisters-in-law, Marie Craig and Mary Jo Craig Neal along with dear friends Karen Moffett and Linda Hall.

Whether Donna was helping on the farm or at school events, she always balanced hard work with heartfelt support, making sure her family and friends were always loved.

Donna will be missed by her loving daughters Cheryl Craig Torline (Joe) and Christy Craig Corum (Doug) all of Scottsburg, Indiana; her grandchildren, Amber Torline Ochalek (Andrew), Eric Torline, Melanie Torline, Allison Torline, Vanessa Torline, Taylor Corum and Elle Corum; her great-grandchild, Avalon Ochalek; a second great grandchild is expected in February. Donna had several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Don Craig; her baby daughter Rica; father and mother; two sisters, Dorothy Howard Jones and Barbara Ann Martin as well as her mother and father in law, Morris and Sula Craig. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 1:30pm at Vienna Baptist Church, 11 W. Leota Rd, Scottsburg, IN 47170.Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m. at Vienna Baptist Church in Scottsburg, IN.MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS Memorial contributions may be made to the Vienna Baptist Church Building Fund.
