Doris J. Shearer, 94, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023 in Indianapolis after a brief illness.

Doris was born to Marvin and Mary (Hays) Hardin in Hazard, Kentucky on March 7, 1928. She grew up in Kentucky and Scottsburg, Indiana. She married Lyndon Shearer on November 1, 1947 and settled in Indianapolis. She was a homemaker.

Doris is survived by her son, Ronald Shearer (Cindy), daughter Marsha Banks, grandsons Brian Banks and Matt Cummings, granddaughter Christie Montgomery (Mark), great-grandsons Austin (Jessica), Clay and Dylan Banks, Steven and Michael Montgomery, and great-granddaughters Kelly and Brooke Montgomery, along with a number of nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 64 years, Lyndon Shearer, her parents Marvin and Mary Hardin, her sister Pauline Smith, and brother John Hardin.

Graveside services will be conducted by Collins Funeral Home on Saturday August 12, 2023 at 12:00 P.M at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
