Dorothy Mae Cass, 93, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 12, 1929 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the daughter of the late Andrew and Marie (Yount) Parks. Dorothy was a 1946 graduate from Scottsburg High School. She worked at the old Scott County State Bank in Scottsburg, Indiana and later worked at Parks and Son Feed Mill. Dorothy married Emery Cass who passed away in 2000. She was a proud member of the Scottsburg United Methodist Church in Scottsburg, Indiana. Dorothy enjoyed quilting, gardening, playing cards, and most importantly spending time with her beloved family. In addition to her parents and loving husband of 53 years, Emery Cass, she was preceded in death by her three grandsons; parents, Andrew and Marie Parks; two brothers, Sam and Tommy Parks; and two sisters, Anna Berna and Nancy Enteman. Survivors include her three daughters, Anna Mae (Randall) Applegate of Scottsburg, Indiana, Erma (Bobby) Riley of Salem, Indiana, and Alice (Randy)Barrett of Bloomington, Indiana; son: James Cass of Scottsburg, Indiana; ten grandchildren, Jeff (Christy) Spence, Chris (Missy) Applegate, Tim (Tobhiyah Rauchwater) Applegate, Beth (Keith) McKinney, Suzanne (DW Brock) Applegate, Andrea Riley (Damon Smith), Cassandra (Michael) Stice, Julie Howard, Stacey (JT) Bellush, and Aaron Cass; sister, Rose Marie Adkins of Florida; twenty-two great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Scottsburg United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Scottsburg United Methodist Church. Interment at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
