Obituary

Dorothy Jennings, 90, of Lexington, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at her residence. She was born on July 28, 1929 in Beckley, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Boyd Estill and Ellen (Wood) Harvey. Dorothy worked as a machinist for years at Bendix Company in Chicago, Illinois. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and spending time with her precious grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard Jennings; four children; Margaret Jennings, Connie Johnston, Raymond Jennings and Billy Jennings; and twelve siblings. Survivors include five sons, Kenneth (Yolanda) Jennings of Lexington, Indiana, David (Della) Jennings of Scottsburg, Indiana, Jimmy Jennings of Chicago, Illinois, Frankie Jennings of Crawfordsville, Indiana and Dewayne Jennings of Chicago, Illinois; her daughter, Garnette Brady of Mooresville, North Carolina; four sisters, Maxine, Shirley, Martha Lane and Gaynow; two brothers, Jerry and Douglas Harvey and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation: 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Sunday. Interment will be in Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Indiana. Services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed.
