Doug Yocum, 56, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. He was born April 29, 1964 in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of Orval Ray Yocum and Wanda (Shepherd) Yocum. Doug graduated from Southwestern High School in the Class of 1983. He was the co-owner of Scottsburg Lanes in Scottsburg, Indiana and had worked there with his family since he was a teenager. Doug attended the New Providence Baptist Church and was a member of the Moose Family Center # 2324. He was a University of Kentucky fan, enjoyed fishing and walking his dog, Matty. Doug loved to bowl and had traveled around the country for many years participating in amateur bowling tournaments. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Yocum on April 20, 2019. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Tammy Y. (Allen) Yocum; a son, Dustin Douglas Yocum and his fiancee Juliet Nichols of Scottsburg, Indiana; his mother, Wanda Yocum of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, Lea Ann Doughty (Ed) of Underwood, Indiana; a brother, Mike Yocum (Karey) of Anaheim Hills, California and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with Matt Craig officiating. Visitation: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
