Elberta S. Hoard-Lundy, 92, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Scott Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 9, 1927 in Corinth, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Calvin Isaac Switzer and Esther (Sebastian) Switzer. Elberta was a retired administrative assistant for Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana, where she also had served as a House Mother at Lambda Chi Fraternity House and also Phi Delta Theta. She was a member of the American Martyrs Catholic Church and a former member of the Scott County O.E.S Chapter 107. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell L. Hoard in Feb. 1995; her second husband, Warren Lundy on Sept. 21, 2004; a brother, Paul Wayne Switzer and two sisters, Barbara Ann Schuster and Nancy Minnick. Survivors include her son, Greg Alan Hoard and his wife Cindy of Cincinnati, Ohio; a niece who cared for her, Phyllis Selfridge of Seymour, Indiana; a brother, Dewey Switzer of Alexandria, Kentucky and three grandchildren, John Gregory, Joseph Alan and Megan Christine Hoard. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm on Friday, September 25,2020 at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph L. Villa officiating. Funeral services may also be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 1:00 pm on Friday. Visitation: 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Friday at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed.
