Elmer Law, 85, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on February 7, 2025, at Hospice Inpatient in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on November 24, 1939, in Milton, Kentucky, to Woodrow Law and Dorothy (Means) Law. Elmer dedicated his life to building and creating through his company, Law and Sons Construction. With skilled hands and an inventive spirit, he was known for his remarkable craftsmanship. Beyond his work, Elmer was known for his passion for music. He loved playing the guitar, banjo, and mandolin. He was also a member of Austin Wesleyan Church in Austin, Indiana. Elmer's faith took him on a profound journey, serving as a missionary in Panama for over ten years, where he combined his carpentry skills with his deep commitment to help others. His compassionate spirit and dedication to service were hallmarks of his character, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. Elmer is preceded in death by his parents; five siblings, Rachel Smith, Carl Law, Joyce Lewis, Ted Law, and Wolffard Law; and one grandson, David Law, Jr. In addition to his wife, Linda, Elmer is survived by his four sons, Ronnie Law of Scottsburg, Indiana, Harry (Rose) Law of Underwood, Indiana, David (Donna) Law of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Charlie Law of Lexington, Indiana; six sisters, Elizabeth (Bob) Hall of Madison, Indiana, Janie Mefford of Bedford, Kentucky, Mary Lovell of Texas, Ruth Wren of North Carolina, Martha Sublett of Bedford, Kentucky, and Becky Sizemore of Madison, Indiana; one brother, Wayne (Sharon) Law of Bedford, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Chris, Danielle, Michael, Jessie, Jack, Tim, Bryan, and Carl; twenty four great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Elmer will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00am at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and on Saturday prior to the service starting at 10:00am both at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Kimberlin Creek Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made in Elmer's name to Austin Wesleyan Church in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
