Ernestine White, 79, of Austin, Indiana, passed away on March 21, 2026. She was born on January 15, 1947, in Saul, Kentucky, she lived a life filled with love, hard work, and devotion to her family. Ernestine dedicated 33 years of her life as a Process Tech at Silgan Plastics, where her commitment and strong work ethic were admired by her colleagues. Ernestine had a passion for the outdoors. On July 22 1997 she married Lester Paige White and he survives. She loved fishing, hunting, and camping, often spending time with her family in nature. Music was an essential part of her life, particularly bluegrass, which brought her joy and comfort. As a woman of faith, she was a member of the Peoples Church on Highway 256, where she found community and connection. In addition to her parents, Ernestine was preceded in death by her first husband, William Bowling; two sons, Randall Bowling and Thomas Bowling; one sister, Esther Barger; four brothers, Kimber Woods, Hershel Woods, Harlan Woods, Jr, and Henry Woods; one grandson, Taylor Wingham. Ernestine is survived by her devoted husband, Paige White; two step sons, Roger White and Lester P. (Michelle) White, Jr.; two sisters, Mershel Hensley and Antoinette Barger; brother, Paul Woods; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cremation services entrusted to Collins Funeral Home with a private family burial at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Austin, Indiana. Online condolences can be made at www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
