Obituary

Etta Sue Robinson, 71, of Austin, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 5, 1953, in Austin, Indiana to the late Charles A. Brandenburg and Emma Mae (Tirey) Brandenburg. On August 4, 1972, she married the love of her life, Rodger Edwin Robinson. Etta was deeply committed to her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and her dedication was reflected in her love for her family and church. She was an active member of World Outreach for Christ in Scottsburg, Indiana. Later in her life, she became an ordained minister. She was passionate about writing poetry and songs, in which she has many published pieces. Her other hobbies included crafts, painting and sewing. Additionally, Etta owned and operated Holiday House, a ceramic shop. Etta is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Rodger Robinson; one sister, Jacquelean Derringer; five brothers, Acie Lee Brandenburg, Karl (Mouse) Brandenburg, Charles L. Brandenburg, Elvis W. Brandenburg and Chester Brandenburg. Surviving to cherish her memories are her two sisters; Marjorie Nichter and Nancy (Dale) Gay; daughter, Sherry Robinson (Lucas Abernathy); three sons, Carl (Joann) Brandenburg, Rodger "Butch" (Jolene) Robinson and Logan Robinson; fifteen grandchildren; Whitney (Troy) Clark, Deric (Amber) Brandenburg, Staci (Justin) Robinson, Eddie Mullins, Ethan Mullins, Junior Mullins, Mary Abernathy, Branden Napier, Katelyn Abernathy, Raeahna Robinson, Nevaeh Robinson, Zechariah Robinson, Lilith Robinson, Anestasia Robinson and Ceria Robinson; and eighteen great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Monday, December 9, 2024, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor Jim Donahue officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at Collins Funeral Home. Concluding services an interment will be in the Cana Cemetery, Paris Crossing, Indiana. The family requests that memorial contributions made in Etta's name be directed to Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
