Frances E. Bowling, 81, of Austin, Indiana passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on January 21, 1943, in Indiana, the daughter of the late Earnest Wilkerson and Mary (Webster) Wilkerson. Frances married Curt C. Bowling, who passed away in 1972. She was a retired employee of Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana. Frances also worked at Pizza Hut in Scottsburg, Indiana for many years. She was a past member of the Open-Door Baptist Church in Deputy, Indiana. Frances loved to sew and quilt. When her kids were young, she enjoyed making their clothing. In addition to her parents and husband, Curt, Frances was preceded in death by son, Jesse W. "Willie" Bowling; daughter, Kathleen Bowling; sister, Marilyn McIntosh; brother, Donald Wilkerson; and grandson, William "Glen" Bowling. Survivors include two daughters, Gail Bowling of Greensburg, Indiana and Mary Miller of St. Louis, Missouri; son, Daniel Bowling of Austin, Indiana; four grandchildren, Colleen Settles, Rachelle Zahn, Danielle Miller, and Shaleigh Bowling; five great grandchildren, Waylon, Rhett, Emmylou, Hannah, and Alison; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service 2:00 pm Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation 12:00 am to 2:00 pm Thursday at Collins Funeral Home.
