Fred B. Niewedde, 84, of Crothersville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on April 17, 1936 in Seymour, Indiana, the son of the late Albert Nieweddle and Claris (Donohue) Niewedde. Fred graduated from Crothersville High School in 1954. He retired in 2007 as a warehouse manager for Midway Supply Corp. in Seymour, Indiana, where he worked for 35 years. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by a stepson, Charles J. Akers; a brother, Sonny Niewedde and a sister, Donna Hensley. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Bernadene (Vires) Niewedde; a son, Brian Keith Niewedde (Kim) of Rising Sun, Indiana; a daughter, Drucilla Kay Hopkins (Gary) of Scottsburg, Indiana; three stepdaughters, Pam Akers-Campbell of Crothersville, Indiana, Nena Akers-Elam (Donnie) of Scottsburg, Indiana and Shelly Barrett of Keller, Texas; a brother, Donald Niewedde of Austin, Indiana; sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Cremation services were entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Services will be held at a later date with burial in Cana Cemetery near Uniontown, Indiana.
