Fredis Eugene Hoskins, 82, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his residence. He was born on February 23, 1939 in Yerkes, Kentucky, the son of the late John and Nell (Hensley) Hoskins. He was a retired employee of Cummins Engines in Columbus, Indiana after working for 32 years, retiring in 1990 due to his health. Fredis moved from Kentucky to Crothersville, Indiana in 1954. He went on to graduate from Crothersville High School in the class 1958. Fredis loved to farm, he had a small grain farm and raised cattle. On July 28, 1963 he married Judith Anne (Denney) Hoskins, who survives. He was a member of the New Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents Fredis is preceded in death by his sister, Dana Hoskins, and brother, Doug Hoskins. Survivors include his wife Judy; daughter, Melissa Buffington of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sons, Timothy (Jill) Hoskins of Salem, Indiana and Jon Mark Hoskins of Scottsburg, Indiana; seven sisters, Freda Smith of Crothersville, Indiana, Elvira (Dennie) Black of Texas, Isabella White of Crestwood, Kentucky, Mary Hendrix of Paris Crossing, Indiana, Evelyn Maxie of Crothersville, Indiana, Lyvon (Will) Watt of Spencer, Indiana, Lynn Hoskins of Crothersville, Indiana; two brothers, Steve Hoskins of Austin, Indiana and David Hoskins of Scottsburg, Indiana; seven grandchildren, T.J. Amos (Nicole) of Sellersburg, Indiana, Mickey Righthouse, Scottsburg, Indiana, Nataniel Hoskins, Salem, Indiana, Staci (Corey) Morris, Salem, Indiana, Ashley Hoskins, Salem, Indiana, Jessica (Jacob) Cole, Salem, Indiana, Benjamen (Courtney) Hoskins, Salem, Indiana; and nine great grandchildren, Rowan Righthouse, Wesley Hoskins, Naomi Hoskins, Owen Morris, Avery Morris, Wyatt Cole, Sam Cole, and Leo Hoskins. Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Sunday, January 16, 2022 at New Chapel United Methodist Church in Underwood, Indiana. Visitation: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Sunday at New Chapel United Methodist Church.
