Fredrick Lee "Freddie" Mace, 85, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, peacefully passed away on December 22, 2025, at his home in Lexington, Indiana with his family by his side. He was born on November 1, 1940, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late Everitt Mace and Myrtle (Rand) Mace. On December 23, 1958 Freddie married the love of his life, Kaylene, and she survives. Freddie was a devoted member of the Lexington Historical Society and the Lexington Christian Church, where he served as a deacon. Freddie was a dedicated machinist, proudly serving at the Reliance Electric Plant in Madison, Indiana, for over 41 years. A man of integrity and hard work. Upon retirement, he found solace in the open fields of his farmland in Lexington, where he cherished the simple pleasures of life, from working the land to enjoying time spent in nature. Beyond his work and family life, Fredrick was passionate about the outdoors. He cherished his time on the farm, where he found peace in nature's beauty. He enjoyed golfing and coon hunting, activities that allowed him to connect with friends and family in the great outdoors. A passionate sports enthusiast, Freddie was a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Indiana University basketball. He took great joy in coaching little league baseball for over 10 years. In addition to his parents Freddie is preceded in death by his son, Gary Mace; and two brothers, Glenn and Randy Mace. Freddie is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Kaylene Mace; one son, Kevin (Tammy) Mace; two sisters, Emma Jean Bowling and Debbie (Steve) Heacock; five grandchildren, Kyle, Kameron (Alyssa), Kaden (Mia), Holly (Styles), and Braylen; and one great grandson, Kolson. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 11:00am at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be on Friday, December 26, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home and on Saturday prior to the service from 10:00am to 11:00am. Burial will follow at Barnes Community Cemetery in New Washington, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Freddie's name to the Barnes Community Cemetery Fund in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Online condolences: www.collinsfuneralhome.net
