George Porter, 66, of Rushville, Indiana passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, at his residence. He was born on November 23, 1955, in Scottsburg, Indiana, he was the son of the late Tommy Porter and Pauline (Aikman) Porter, who survives. He served during the Vietnam War as a SP4 in the U.S. Army. On August 18,1981 George married Gloria Porter, who survives. He enjoyed his writing group, reading, and current events. In addition to his father George was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Porter. Survivors include: his wife of 41 years, Gloria Porter of Rushville, Indiana; two sons, Tom Porter of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Andy Porter of Rushville, Indiana; three sisters, Ollie Porter of Charlestown, Indiana, Rhoda Schulte of El Paso, Texas, and Bea Reedy of Vero Beach, Florida; brother, John Porter of Ocala, Florida; two grandchildren, Addie and Mikey Dailey; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Cremation was entrusted by Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. A celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, June 5, 2022, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Scottsburg Beechwood Park Lion's Shelter House for family and friends.
