Gina Renae Bridgewater, 40, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on March 19, 1979 in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Pat Bridgewater and Debra (Bennett) Selke. Gina graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1998 and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Ministry at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. She worked as a 911 dispatcher for Scott County Emergency Communication in Scottsburg, Indiana for ten years. Gina was a member of the River of Life Church near Bloomington, Indiana and a faithful volunteer at the Humane Society. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Gina adored animals and loved her feline companions, Harley and Joy. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Vernon Bennett; paternal grandparents, James and Phyllis Bridgewater, and her uncle, Mike Bridgewater. Survivors include her mother, Debra Selke and her husband Michael of Scottsburg, Indiana; her father, Pat Bridgewater of Lexington, Indiana; a sister, Jennifer Zemlin and her husband John of Lawton, Oklahoma; her two uncles, Mike Bennett of Austin, Indiana and Jerry Bridgewater of Lexington, Indiana; her grandmother, Hazel Bennett of Austin, Indiana; and three nephews, Christopher, Noah, and Dylan Zemlin. Interment will be in Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Indiana. Memorial Contributions may be given to Humane Society of Scott County c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
