Grace Hardin, 98, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021, in the loving care of her family. She was born on February 22, 1923, in Owsley, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Noah and Addie (Bishop) Gay. On August 22, 1941, she married Charles W. Hardin, who passed away March 31, 2009. Grace was a member of the Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church for many years. She was a loving wife of the late C.W. Hardin, a dedicated mother and grandmother. Grace was a housewife and had a lot of spunk and determination to learn and achieve many things in life. She learned how to drive in her later years and enjoyed driving through the country site-seeing and going shopping. Grace and her sister, Offie, even taught their sister, Idie, how to drive a few years back. In addition to her parents and husband, Grace is preceded in death by her son, Larry Lee Hardin; brother, Kermit Gay; and three sisters, Ida "Idie" Smith, Lillie "Sis" Cornett, and Gladys Dailey. Survivors include two sons, Harold "Bill" Hardin and Roger (Glenna) Hardin both of Scottsburg, Indiana; sister, Ofa "Offie"; seven grandchildren, Andrea (James) Treadway, Jennifer Hardin, Leigh McNeely, Shooter (Brittany) Hardin, Chase (Marita) Hardin, Colt Hardin, and Caitlin (Brian) Busick; ten great grandchildren, Morgan, Alison, Carlye, Destiny, Trinity, Brooklyn, Bristol, Myles, Gavyn, and Brylee; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: 12:00 Noon Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor Gary Satterly officiating. Visitation: 10:00 am to 12:00 noon Tuesday prior to services at Collins Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
