Hazel L. Bowen, 82, of Austin, Indiana passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at The Waters of Scottsburg in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on January 28, 1940, the daughter of the late Claude S. and Iva F. (Collings) Campbell. Hazel was raised on the Campbell Family Farm in Underwood, Indiana. She was a retired manager and cook at the Austin Elementary, Middle, and High Schools, where she retired in 2005 after 23 years. She was a member of Underwood Baptist Church, in Underwood, Indiana. Hazel married Harold E. Bowen, who passed away on June 9, 1995 . In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by five brothers, William, John Paul, Willard, Samuel and Floyd Campbell; and two sisters, Bertha Campbell and Doris Smith. Survivors include her daughter, Leah Bowen of Austin, Indiana; son, Brian Bowen of Austin, Indiana; brother, Stephen Campbell (LaDonna) of Underwood, Indiana; two sisters, Ruth Brown (Lee) and Carol Campbell, both of Bloomington, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: 11:00 am Wednesday, March 16,2022 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Rev. David Schill officiating. Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, March 15, 2022 and after 9:00 am Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment will be at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
