Helen Goben, 94, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on March 26, 1928 in East Liverpool, Ohio; she was the daughter of the late John G. Burns and Ada (Ledford) Burns. On June 6, 1968 she married Lyman H. Goben, who passed away December 10, 2016. She was the retired President of the Brown Construction Company in Scottsburg, Indiana and a former employee of the Scott County Treasurer's Office and the Jackson County Commissioner's Office. Helen was a long time member of the Broadway Pentecostal Church in Austin, Indiana. She was a former member of the Leota Homemakers Club, Scottsburg Kiwanians and a past President of the Leota Covered Bridge Association. In addition to her husband, Lyman H. Goben, and parents, Helen is preceded in death by, a daughter, Ramona Faye Brown; four brothers, Rev. Don, Roy, Denver and Houston Burns and three sisters, Cheryl Spicer, Anna Lee Walters, and Hester Burns. Survivors include three daughters, Betty J. Robbins of Scottsburg, Indiana, Phyllis Amick of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Yvonne (James) Trabue of Scottsburg, Indiana; son, Lloyd (Vickie) Brown of Scottsburg, Indiana; stepdaughter, Marla (Marvin) Bunker of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; stepson, Stephen Paul Goben of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; brother, John Burns of Crothersville, Indiana; ten grandchildren, Cheryl, Denney, Jeff, Jamie, Mark, Troy, Nicole, Billie, Mackenzie, and Cody; twenty- three great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday at Collins Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Broadway Pentecostal Church in c/o Collins Funeral Home. Interment at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
