Helen J. Walker, 77, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born on August 11, 1943 in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of the late Turner McNear and Elizabeth (Byrd) McNear. She married the love of her life, Vernon Walker, Sr., on April 1962, who preceded her in death. She was a former employee of Kimball Furniture in Borden, Indiana. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Her survivors include, four sons, Vernon Walker, Jr. of Frostproof, Florida, David Lee Walker of Springville, Indiana, James Allan Walker of Clarksville, Indiana, and Darrell Keith Walker of Scottsburg, Indiana, eight grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren. Funeral Service is Monday, March 29, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation is from 10 am to 12 pm Monday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate.
