Herbert Jent, Jr., 62, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on November 10, 1958 in Seymour, Indiana, the son of the late Herbert Jent, Sr. and Emma Mae (Lewis) Jent. Herbert was a retired self employed carpenter, attended the Free Pentecostal Church in Austin, Indiana and an U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed the outdoors and doing yard work, was a Cincinnati Reds fan and loved his cats. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Loretta Doane and Pamela Jent. Survivors include his companion, Lorraine Short of Scottsburg, Indiana; two daughters, Mindy Jent of Scottsburg, Indiana and Julia Paige Jent of Austin, Indiana; two sons, Herbert Jent, III of Largo, Florida and Daniel Keith Jent of Brookhaven, Mississippi; three sisters, Tina Crowe and Angela Crowe both of Lexington, Indiana and Debra Crowe of Scottsburg, Indiana; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation services were entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Military graveside services and burial will be held at a later date in Lick Branch Cemetery near Deputy, Indiana.
