Ida Katherine "Kathy" Graw

Ida Katherine "Kathy" Graw, 60, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on March 16, 2026, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on October 27, 1965 in Orange County, Indiana, to Robert Clarence Mills and Mariellen Sue (Griffin) Mills. On May 10, 1987 Kathy married the love of her life, Randy. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Mariellen Sue Mills and Robert Clarence Mills. She is survived by her loving husband, Randy Graw; her children, Kasey (Daryl) Scott, Samantha Deaton, and Mary Graw; and her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Scott, Kaden Deaton, Annabelle Scott. She is also survived by her siblings, Timothy (Beth Ann) Mills, Rebecca "Becky" (Randy) Smith, Edward (Joni) Mills, Denis Mills, Edward (Joni) Mills, Mary "Christy" Carey, Michelle Mills, and Jamie Murdock, along with many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and extended family who loved her deeply. Kathy found joy in the simple things in life-quite moments, laughter, and time spent with the people she loved most. But when it came to family her world was anything but small. She had a big, beautiful family-by blood, by marriage, and by choice-and she loved each and every one fiercely. She had a giving heart and was always ready to help others. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and her beloved "suggies" and other animals where the center of her world and brought her endless happiness. She enjoyed puzzles, diamond painting, and arts and crafts, and could often be found watching her favorite "weird" shows, listening to music, or relaxing with a good card or dice game. She loved driving around, exploring thrift stores and yard sales, cooking and trying new recipes, and spending time outdoors whenever the weather allowed. She also had a special love for John Wayne and classic Westerns. She also had a phrase her family will never forget-whenever asked "why," her answer was simply, "because I said so." It was said with love, humor, and the kind of strength that defined who she was. She will be remembered for her kindness, her love of family, her strong spirit, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Cremation services entrusted to Collins Funeral Home.
