Irene Eversole, 92, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on May 14, 1929 in Ary, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Estill Combs and Eliza Mae Grigsby (Combs) . On November 15, 1974 she married Jerry M. Eversole, who passed away on May 30, 2018. She was a former nurse's aide at the Apple Creek State Hospital in Ohio and had worked at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana. Irene was a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle in Crothersville, Indiana. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by a son, Gary Eugene Gayhart; granddaughter, Melissa Gayhart; great grandson Derrick Stigdon (Gayhart) two sisters, Izo and Eula; and two brothers, Arlie and Adrian. Survivors include: son, Gregory (Michelle) Gayhart of Henryville, Indiana; daughter, Barbara (David) Kline of Scottsburg, Indiana; sister, Beulah of Wooster, Ohio; nine grandchildren, and many great and great great grandchildren. Graveside Service: 10:00 am Tuesday at Scaffold Lick Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Miles officiating. Interment at Scaffold Lick Cemetery in Blocher, Indiana.
