Jackie L. Perkinson, Sr., 82, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on August 15, 1940 in Scott County, Indiana, the son of the late Everitt Perkinson and Geneva Mae (Peacock) Perkinson. Jackie retired from Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana. He was a proud member of the Alpha Baptist Church near Deputy, Indiana, National FFA Organization, and Woodmen of the World. Jackie graduated from Scottsburg High School in the Class of 1958. On June 2, 1962 he married Jeanne Joann (Comer) Perkinson, who passed away on Oct. 7, 2000. He enjoyed going to church, IU Basketball, and most importantly spending time with family. Jackie was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one son, Dale Perkinson; two sisters, Barbara Bowen and Nancy Mayhew; and two great grandchildren, Hayden and Hailee Foist. Survivors include one son, Jackie L. (Londa) Perkinson, Jr. of Scottsburg, Indiana; two brothers, John (Beth) Perkinson of Deputy, Indiana and Gary (Shirley) Perkinson of Deputy, Indiana; four grandchildren, Regina Helton (Josh), Kay-Lynn Foist (Tyler), Cheyenne House (Michael) and Dakota Perkinson; eight great grandchildren, Peyton and Jase Helton, Paxton, Quenton and Zayne Foist, Landon and Paisley Jesse and Carter Brown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Thursday, April 20, 2023. Interment at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
