James G. "Jim" Broady, 77, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on June 19, 1943 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Marion L. Broady and Opal Marie (Miner) Broady. Jim graduated from Scottsburg High School in the Class of 1961. He was co-owner of the old J & J Feed and Farm Supply in Scottsburg, Indiana, was the former manager of the Crothersville Crop Production Service, had worked at Production Credit and was a farmer. Jim was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Leota, Indiana, where he served as a Deacon Emeritus, a former board member for the United Producers in Little York, Indiana and a member of the Scott County Farm Bureau. He was the former president of both the Austin and Scottsburg Jaycees, enjoyed the outdoors and working around the farm and his house. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Annalee Harrison-Turley. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Barbara E. (Thormyer) Broady; two daughters, Tana Coleman (Keith) of Orlando, Florida and Farah Craig (Matthew) of Scottsburg, Indiana; a brother, Steve Broady of Scottsburg, Indiana and six grandchildren, Kinlee, Ana, Kati, Jaxon, Roman and Adia. Funeral Service: 11:00 am on Monday, February 22, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Scottsburg, Indiana with Phil LaMaster, Matthew Craig and Bruce Bridgewater officiating. Funeral services may also be viewed by the public on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 11:00 am on Monday. Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday and after 9:00 am Monday at the First Christian Church. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed and will be limited to 50 people in the building. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate. Interment will be in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Leota, Indiana.
