James David Burr, 55, passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2024, in Scottsburg, Indiana. Born on October 26, 1969, in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of James E. Burr, Jr. and Patricia Diane Lyons Dixon. David graduated from Scottsburg High School, class of 1988. He married his beloved wife, Sharon Gale Campbell Burr, November 12, 2004. A devoted member of Scaffold Lick Baptist Church since 1980, David served on the church budget committee for numerous years. With a 35-year career at Morgan Foods, he held various positions. As a season ticket holder, David followed the University of Louisville Cardinals since 1983, and Cincinnati Rosie Reds since infancy. He also supported Scottsburg High School sports attending most events. Throughout his life, he actively participated in baseball and bowling leagues and enjoyed collecting baseball cards. David was a kind soul and loved to help others, he volunteered for We Care and Kids First yearly. David is survived by his wife, Gale Burr, his mother, Patricia Diane Dixon, aunt, Sue Filling, step-sisters, Evelyn Mae (Roger) Smith and Debbie (Joe) Tash and step-brother, Keith Lee Dixon, Jr. as well as his best friends, Kevin Collins and David Christy. He is preceded in death by his father, James E. Burr, Jr. and grandparents, Perry and Mona LaMaster and Robert and Daisey Lyons. The service for James David Burr will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 23, 2024, at Collins Funeral Home, 465 W. McClain Avenue, Scottsburg. Friends may visit with David's family from 10:00am until service time at 2:00pm Monday at Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Scottsburg Cemetery.
