James "Jim" McFarland, 74, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on December 31, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Jim was born on November 29, 1951, at Clark County Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was the beloved son of the late George E. McFarland and Rose Marie (Schnell) McFarland.
On November 7, 1987, Jim married the love of his life, Kathleen "Kathy" (Rosebrock) McFarland.
Jim was a proud graduate of Providence High School, Class of 1969. He went on to earn his degree from the Purdue University School of Pharmacy in 1974. A dedicated and respected pharmacist, Jim began his career at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville and later retired from Walgreens in Sellersburg, Indiana.
Jim enjoyed listening to music, watching classic movies, and most of all spending time with his family. He was an avid Purdue fan and cherished his trips to Yellowstone National Park, which held a special place in his heart.
A faithful Christian, Jim attended The Home Church in Scottsburg, led by Reverend Raymond (Rosebrock). Known for his kindness and compassion, Jim touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy; a sister, Patricia Ann Beck. He is survived by his brother, George E. McFarland Jr.; nephew, Anthony McFarland, both of Jeffersonville, In; nieces, Christina and Melissa with their families. Jim had a lasting relationship with his father-in-law, Raymond G. Rosebrock; brother-in-law, Raymond A. Rosebrock and his family; sister-in-law, Alice (Rosebrock) Stackhouse with her sons Matthew (Deanna) Rose and Gabriel(Taylor) Rose and their families.
There will be a visitation on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Collins Funeral Home from 10-1pm with service to start at 1pm. Burial will follow at Lexington Cemetery.
