James "Jim" Walton, 73, passed away on December 11, 2025. He was born on August 4, 1952, in Scottsburg, IN, son of the late James Edwin and Maxine (Mount) Walton. Jim lived a life filled with passion, adventure, and love for his family and friends. Jim was a dedicated bus driver for Scott County School District 2 and was also a heavy-duty mechanic for the Highway Department for many years. Jim reveled in the great outdoors and had a deep appreciation for nature. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or riding his beloved motorcycles, he embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories. He shared his adventures with his adored dogs, Buddy and Cooper, who were loyal companions. In addition to his parents Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Jenine Walton on May 13, 2024. He is survived by his loving son, Dr. James Walton of Indianapolis; siblings, his brother Johnnie Walton (Rhoda) of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sisters, Barbara Nichols (Bill) of Scottsburg, Indiana and Bonnie Trabue (Steve) of Scottsburg, Indiana; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held at Collins Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 10:00am to 1:00pm with funeral service to start at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
