Janet K. Cross, 79, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on April 21, 1942 in Campbellsburg, Indiana, the daughter of the late Oral Freed and Virginia (Daulton) Darkis. Janet was a retired packer for the old U.S. Shoe Corp. in Crothersville and Madison, Indiana and a former employee at the Wal-Mart Deli in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church Lexington, Indiana, Senior Executive Club at Hampton Oaks,and a volunteer for Bingo at St. James Place. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clancy C. Cross, who passed away on Nov. 14, 1991. Her survivors include four sons, Clarence C. Cross of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Gregory L. (Sherry) Cross of Scottsburg, Indiana, Jerry D. (Rosa) Cross of West Mansfield, Ohio, and Troy A. (Sarina) Cross of Cloverdale, Indiana; sister, Edna Fay Ollis of Bedford, Indiana; and half brother, Tommy Freed of Salem, Indiana. She is also survived by three grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Romero officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Tuesday and after 10 am Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Interment will be at Emmanuel Baptist Cemetery near Lexington, Indiana.
