Janet L. Kern, 79, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on August 24, 1940 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the daughter of the late Charles Ross Kern and Anna Ione (Richards) Kern. Janet was a retired paralegal for an attorney's office in Tampa, Florida and always enjoyed spending time with her high school friend study group. Survivors include her brothers, Dick Kern and his wife Paula and Ross Kern and his wife Vickie all of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, Ann Kern of Scottsburg, Indiana; her daughter, Marg Stark and her husband, Commander Darwin Clark, USN, Ret of San Diego, California and two grandsons, Liam and Patrick Clark. Cremation services were entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Scottsburg Cemetery.
