Jenine D. Walton, a beloved wife, mother, sister and school bus driver, passed away on May 13, 2024, at the age of 70 in her hometown of Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on December 18, 1953, in Joliet, Illinois. Jenine spent her life caring for her family and serving her community.

Throughout her life, Jenine touched the hearts of those around her with her warm smile and kind spirit. While having her licenses in cosmetology and as a QMA, her dedication to her job at Scott County School District #2 as a school bus driver was evident to all who knew her, and her commitment to the children she transported was unwavering.

Jenine was preceded in death by her parents, Riley Flesher and Arleen (Borms) Flesher and sister, Deborah "Debbie" Thurman (Mike). Jenine is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Jim Walton; her son, Dr. James R. Walton of Indianapolis, Indiana; her brother, Dale Flesher and his wife Nancy of Lexington, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. Her nephews will always remember her delicious taco salads, a dish she lovingly prepared for family gatherings.

Jenine found solace in tending to her garden, particularly her beloved yellow roses. She enjoyed arts and crafts and also had a fondness for collecting Boyds Bears, each one holding a special place in her heart.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Jenine's life will be held at Collins Funeral Home on May 18, 2024, at 11:00 am. Prior to the service, a Public Viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday at 10:00 am. Jenine will be laid to rest in Bethel Cemetery in Leota, Indiana.
