Jeremy Ryan Cox, 38, of Hanover, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on March 26, 1982 in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Michael L. Cox and Charlotte G. (Bales) Cox. Jeremy graduated from Scottsburg High School in 2000 and then attended Vincennes University earning an Associate's Degree in Conservation Law. He was a Senior Patrolman at the Madison Police Department in Madison, Indiana, where he has worked for the last 13 years. Jeremy had previously worked in the gun department at Scott's Ace Hardware in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was baptized at the First Christian Church in Scottsburg, Indiana, was currently a member of the Hanover Baptist Church and the Stacks of Power F.O.P. Lodge # 128 in Madison, Indiana. Jeremy enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his family, especially his daughter. Survivors include his daughter, Allison Lynn Cox of Madison, Indiana; his fiancé, Ellen Goble and her son Isaac of Madison, Indiana; his parents, Michael and Charlotte Cox of Deputy, Indiana; a sister, Amber Lee and her husband Rusty of Lexington, South Carolina and a niece and nephew, Bridget and Brady Lee. Funeral Service: 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the First Christian Church in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor and Police Chaplain J.D. Traylor officiating. Funeral services may also be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday and after 9:00 am on Wednesday at the First Christian Church. Cremation has been chosen following Jeremy's services. Visitation and funeral services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive order.
