Jeri Lee James

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Jeri Lee James, 63, of Scottsburg, Indiana. She left us on March 9, 2026, at Nortons Women's and Children's Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky after 3 courageous battles with cancer. All her family and Scott Glover were by her side all the way through this battle. She was born on August 9, 1962, in Scottsburg, Indiana daughter of William H. and Emma Jean (Nichols) James who both, preceded her in death. Jeri was a vibrant soul who loved and was very patient with all kinds of animals, especially all her dogs with Issy being the last. Her laughter was infectious and she brought warmth to everyone she met. Jeri was a graduate of Scottsburg High School class of 1981. She is survived by her loving siblings; Billy Jean (Garth) Kovener, Mack William "Billy Mack" (Shari) James, Robert Lynn "Bobby Lynn"(Lily) James, Bret Allen (Sandy) James and Jo Nell (Mike) Taylor, along with her close friend, Scott Glover, who will forever cherish her memory. Jeri leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews as well as Our Dear Uncle and Aunt Jim and Joyce Nichols and family. There will be a visitation held on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 12-2pm with service to follow at Collins Funeral Home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, Jeri would enjoy donations made in her honor to the Scott County Humane Society in C/O Collins Funeral Home.
