Jimmy Combs, 72, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on September 25, 1948 in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of the late Bonie Combs and Mae Hailey (Deaton) Combs. Jimmy was a retired forklift operator for Morgan Foods in Austin, Indiana, where he worked for 41 years. He served during the Vietnam War as a Spec 4 in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his companion, Ruth Ann McIntosh and five brothers, Harlan, Hacker, William and Jacie Combs and John Lewis Dair. Survivors include a daughter, Tina Green of Austin, Indiana; two stepdaughters, Nora McIntosh of Austin, Indiana and Julie McIntosh of Scottsburg, Indiana; two brothers, Archie Combs of Oak Ridge, Ohio and Robert Combs of Newport, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Dakota and Ryan Green, Andrew and Cameron Reed, Eli and Dakota Huddleston and four great grandchildren, Isaiah, Malakai, Jeremiah and Dalton. Funeral Service: 11:00 am on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with burial in Combs Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 8 pm on Thursday and after 10 am Friday at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate.
