Joan Marie Cline

Joan Marie Cline, 83, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2026, in Salem, Indiana, with her loving family by her side.

Joan was born on January 8, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the beloved daughter of Emil and Laura Freiburg. Throughout her life, Joan was known for her dedication to her work, her love for her family, and the simple joys that made life meaningful.

Joan devoted much of her professional life to the healthcare field, working as a medical coding specialist at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. She also served as manager of medical records at the former Scott Memorial Hospital, where she made valuable contributions through her knowledge, hard work, and commitment.

Outside of her career, Joan treasured spending time with her family, who meant so much to her. She enjoyed watching sports, reading, and playing golf. These favorite pastimes brought her happiness and provided many opportunities to enjoy life and create lasting memories with those she loved.In addition to her parents Joan was preceded in death by two sisters; Paula Brewster and Sally Freiburg. She is survived by her daughter, Missy Whelan(Chris); son, Tim Cline(Sharon); brother, Terry Freiburg of El Paso, Texas; along with two grandchildren, Chris Cline and Kerstin Beswick and four great grandchildren; Khloe, Klare, Christian and Collin.Online condolences:www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
