John Clyde Abbott, 58, of Lexington, Indiana passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at home with his loved ones and the care of hospice. John was born to the late Claudette (Stone) and John R. Abbott Sr. on October 28, 1964. John married his soul mate Mary (Dixon) Abbott on July 16, 2021.

John is preceded in death by his mother, Claudette Abbott and one brother, James Abbott. In addition to his wife, Mary, John is survived by his father, John R; one brother, Jeff Abbott; two sons, Jonathan Abbott of Scottsburg, Indiana and Michael Abbott of Kentucky; two step daughters, Destiny (Tim) Andrews of Scottsburg, Indiana and Juanita Lucas of Crothersville, Indiana; three step sons, Connor Aver of Crothersville, Indiana, Josiah (Jazmyn) Aver of Scottsburg, Indiana and Thaddeaus Lucas of Austin, Indiana; three granddaughters, Hayden, Maelynn, and Kenzlynn of Scottsburg, Indiana; two grandsons, Rylee and Ryker of Scottsburg, Indiana; two nephews, Colin Abbott and Dakota Abbott both of Lexington, Indiana. John is also survived by best friend, Morgan Biesen of Austin, Indiana, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. John was the owner operator of Abbotts Backhoe. He was also previously employed by Industrial Recycling Services in Seymour, Indiana. John also worked with Albertsons Excavation and Coomes Excavation and Backhoe services. John loved spending time with his beloved friends and family. John enjoyed fishing, camping, going on bike rides, mowing grass, gardening, and being a master on the grill. John had many friends and was beloved by many. Funeral Service 12:00 Noon Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Amanda Fugate officiating. Visitation 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Tuesday. Interment at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Indiana. Memorial contributions can be made to John's family to assist with funeral expenses.
