John Wayne Bailey, 66 of Lexington, Indiana passed away Friday, March 28, 2025. He was born November 15, 1958, in Madison, Indiana to Carl and Lena Spencer Bailey. He graduated from Scottsburg High School. John married Rita Mae Spaulding, the love of his life on May 16, 1992, and she preceded him in death on August 30, 2022. He worked at Jeff Boat for several years until taking a position with Heidelburg Materials as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in July 2024. John is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rita Mae and his sister, Wilma Richey. Surviving to cherish his memories are his brother, Richard (Deanna) Bailey of Indianapolis; and his sisters, Barbara Robbins of Austin, Indiana, Shirley Ball of Jeffersonville, Indiana and Joy (Mark) Spencer of Sellersburg, Indiana; as well as many friends, nieces and nephews. He will be laid to rest next to his wife, Rita at 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at a Graveside Memorial Service at Scottsburg Cemetery.
