John V. Osman, 93, of Austin, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on March 13, 1929 in Westfield, Indiana, the son of the late Charley and Mable (Pugh) Osman. John was a retired employee of Cummins Engine Company in Walesboro, Indiana and a former machine operator at Arvins in Seymour, Indiana. He attended the Church of God in Austin, Indiana. John served during the Korean War in the United States Army. On March 14, 1953 he married Pearl Ann (Harris) Osman, who passed away on Oct. 31, 2018. John was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one brother, James Osman; and one sister, Sarah Balyeat. Survivors include, his daughter, Debbie Sue Osman of Austin, Indiana; sister, Hazel (Jimmy) West of Scottsburg, Indiana; and two grandchildren, Faith Young and Dustin Wood. Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem, Indiana. Memorial contributions can be made to the VFW Post 6636 Salem c/o Collins Funeral Home.
