John Stangle passed away peacefully at home in Scottsburg, IN on January 6, 2022, at the age of 68. John was born on May 7, 1953, in Staten Island, New York to the late L.G. Stangle and Alice (Rock) Stangle. John was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was an avid gun enthusiast and enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. When not with family, John would spend his days at the Clark State Forest Gun Range. He is survived by his life-long companion, Catherine Atwood, two daughters Cathy (Kyle) Anderson of Newark, OH and Angel (John) Sherburne of St. Louisville, OH; one son Ken Blanchard of Queensbury, NY; grandsons Ethan Anderson, Carter Sherburne & Hunter Sherburne; sister Lorraine Cromey of Tyler TX; brothers Lee Stangle of Fort Anne, NY and David (Tracy) Stangle of East Stroudsburg, PA and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Ann Bockowski of Tyler, TX. No Services will be held.
