Johnny William Stacey

 Johnny William Stacey, 80, of Austin, Indiana passed away on January 17, 2026, at Norton Brownsboro in Louisville, Kentucky with his family by his side. He was born on July 25, 1945 in Hyden, Kentucky, to the late Ulysses Stacey and Lillian (Campbell) Stacey. A proud graduate of the Scottsburg Senior High Class of 1963, Johnny went on to retire from a 35-year career at Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his passion for vintage machinery, particularly antique tractors. Johnny found joy in restoring models from renowned brands such as John Deere and Farmall, a hobby that showcased his craftsmanship and love for engineering. In addition to his parents Johnny is preceded in death by one brother, Wallace Stacey; one sister, Ruth Collins; three brothers-in-law, Winferd Henry, Melvin Poling and Edward Collins Jr.; three nephews, Charles, Rodney, and James; one niece, Mamie Jane; and a good friend and companion, Shirley. Johnny is survived by two brothers, Grover (Sandy) Stacey of Austin, Indiana and Kenneth Stacey of Austin, Indiana; two sisters, Rose Poling of Martinsville, Indiana and Betty Henry of Nashville, Indiana; and nieces and nephews, Mike, Malinda, Julie, Lisa, Paul, Cheryl, Yvonne, Joe, Rita, Steve, Becky, and Chet. His family, along with many close friends and colleagues, will forever cherish the memories and laughter shared with him. The funeral service for Johnny Stacey will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 12:00pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and on Thursday prior to the service from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Collins Funeral Home.
