Joseph E. "Joe" Spicer, 70, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on February 1, 1951 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Jackson and Marie (Evans) Spicer. Joe attended Austin High School, was a former employee of the old American Can Company in red Austin, Indiana and also Arvin Industries in Seymour, Indiana. He was a member of the Moose Family Center #2324, the Sons of the American Legion Post #234 and the Scott County VFW Post #6582. Joe enjoyed motorcycle riding, fast cars, drag strip racing and water skiing. Survivors include a his companion, Brenda Spicer; a daughter, Christy Bixler (Kelly) of Scottsburg, Indiana; a son, Brandon "Bo" Spicer of Scottsburg, Indiana; a brother, Mark John Spicer of Crothersville, Indiana; three sisters, Jeannie Coomer and Jackie Wilkins both of Scottsburg, Indiana and Lois Montgomery of Austin, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Graveside Service: 1:00 pm on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Scottsburg Cemetery with Richard Howard officiating.
