Joyce Schneck, 84, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on June 18, 2024, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on October 4, 1939 in Austin, Indiana to the late Clifford C. "Pete" Baxter and Elma W. (Whitlach) Baxter. Joyce graduated from Austin High School in the class of 1957. She was always active in the school band being a majorette, singing in the choir and enjoyed the acting classes. On May 20, 1989 Joyce married Roy Schneck at the Austin Methodist Church, he proceeds her in death on August 9, 2023. She worked as a claims adjuster for over twenty years at Martins Insurance. Joyce was a pillar of her community, actively participating in various organizations such as the Daughters of the American Revolution, Job's Daughters, Austin United Methodist Church where she played the organ for over thirty years, and the Look Out Class of the First Christian Church. You could always find her on the third row of First Christian Church. She was also a lifelong member of the Republican party. Her dedication and contributions to these groups will forever be remembered. Joyce loved nothing more than Jesus and her family. In addition to her parents Joyce is preceded in death by her first husband, Richard "Rick" Lucas; the love of her life, Roy Schneck; and brother, Ronald Edward Baxter. Surviving are a daughter, Rhona and Kevin Whicker of Scottsburg, and three sons, Rudy and Trish Lucas of Scottsburg, Rick and Sharon Lucas of Scottsburg, and Todd and Victoria Schneck of Russiaville, Indiana. Their six grandchildren include Derek and Julie Lucas of Georgetown Indiana, Dallas and Lakyn Lucas of Scottsburg, Indiana, Megan and Robbie Stidham of Scottsburg, Indiana, Kayla and Randy Goff of Scottsburg, Indiana, Dylan Lucas of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Grant Schneck of Indianapolis, Indiana. Together they have ten great grandchildren including Griffen, Graham, and Finley Lucas of Georgetown, Indiana, Lexie Cole-Fox, Izzak Cole-Fox, Callie and Tyson Lucas of Scottsburg, Indiana, Britain and Meliah Pulliam of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Beatrice Goff of Scottsburg, Indiana. Funeral on Saturday, June 22, 2024, 2:00pm at the First Christian Church of Scottsburg, Indiana with Matthew Craig officiating. Visitation will be prior to services at the church Saturday, from 10:00am to 2:00 pm. Interment will follow services at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
