Judith Carol Taylor, 80, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana. The daughter of the late Irwin King and Wilma (Hubbard) King, she was born on November 19, 1940 in Scottsburg, Indiana. Judy graduated from Scottsburg High School, and was a four year varsity cheerleader. In 1958 she was crowned the Scott County Fair Queen, and then attended and graduated from Indiana University. Judy had a long career in Special Education in the public schools and also teaching in a boys reformatory and Kentucky's women's prison. March 17, 1979 she married Daniel T. Taylor III, and assisted him in his legal practice. After his death on November 21, 2018, she moved with her cat from Sleepy Hollow in Prospect, Kentucky, to Lake Iola Assisted Living in Scottsburg, where her sunny disposition and daily piano concerts made her a beloved resident. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Michael King; and husband. She is survived by a niece, Tami Nance; three nephews Rick King, Gary King, Jason King all of Scottsburg, Indiana; and stepbrother, Fred Fieldhouse of Sacramento, California. Funeral services: 1:00 pm Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor David Colbert officiating. Funeral services may also be viewed by the public on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 1:00 pm on Saturday. Visitation: 11:00 am until the time of services Saturday. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed.
