Katie Jo Smith, 30, of Underwood, Indiana, beloved daughter, wife, and dedicated Pharmacist, who graced the world with her vibrant spirit passed away on April 24, 2025, at Norton Audubon in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on June 2, 1994, in Louisville, Kentucky to John Conder and Lorna (Bayes) Conder. Katie graduated from Scottsburg Senior High School in 2013 and went on to earn a degree in Pharmacy from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana in 2019. She started her career as a Pharmacist at Hancock's Drug Store in Scottsburg, Indiana and went on to work for Williams Bros. Health Care in Austin, Indiana. Katie married Waylon Smith on February 29, 2020. Waylon's passion for World Wrestling Entertainment was contagious, and Katie developed a love for it too. Katie was best known for her fondness of reading, where she spent her leisure time. Katie was a devout member of the Austin Christian Church, leading worship every Sunday and inspiring her community through her unwavering faith. Her commitment to serving others was evident not only in her role as a Pharmacist at Williams Bros. Health Care but also in her daily interactions, where she extended kindness and care to all. Katie is preceded in death by her aunt, Jo Ann Romero; paternal grandparents, Joe and Doris (Kelley) Conder; and maternal grandparents, Keith and Gloria Jean (Donahue) Bayes. Katie is survived by her loving husband, Waylon; parents, John and Lorna Conder of Underwood, Indiana; mother-in-law, Lillie (Elmer) Spicer; aunts and uncles, Carolyn Sue (Ron) Cobb, Riley Jo Bayes, Evelyn Alsup, Armando Romero, Jeff (Lisa) Conder, and Gordon (Kathy) Bayes; and many cousins, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts forever. Visitation for Katie Smith will be at Austin Christian Church in Austin, Indiana on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 1:00pm until 7:00pm and on Tuesday, April 29 from 9:00am until 11:00am. Her service will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 11:00am at Austin Christian Church following her visitation. Burial will follow at Fairview Christian Church Cemetery in Underwood, Indiana.
