Kenneth L Chamness

Kenneth L. Chamness, 79, of Scottsburg, Indiana, died on July 8, 2026, at Lake Pointe Village in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on July 13, 1946, in Scott County, Indiana, the son of the late Orian Roby Chamness and Blanche Mae (Righthouse) Chamness. Kenny was a retired self-employed truck driver for the old Chamness Brothers Trucking, where he worked for 37 years. He also formerly worked as a former mechanic for the old Tri City Olds in Louisville, Kentucky for 10 years, the old Daw White Ford-Mercury, the old Arbuckle Chevrolet and the old Reliance Electric in Madison, Indiana. He attended the Commiskey First Church of God in Commiskey, Indiana, previously attended Trinity House of Prayer in Austin, Indiana and Trinity House of God in Austin, Indiana. Kenny graduated from Lexington High School in 1965. He was a past member of the American Legion Post #234. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Maurice and John Chamness; three nephews, David A., Jay and Jason Chamness; and two nieces, Michelle L. Cissell and Karla S. Eskridge. Survivors include Beverly Elliott of Lexington, Indiana and niece, Vicki L Reed of Henryville, Indiana. Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, 11:00am at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and prior to the service on Wednesday from 10:00am to 11:00am.
