Kevin Neal "Boot Head" Smith, 49, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana. He was born on December 10, 1970 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Lowry G. Smith and Kathy J. (Pavy) Roy, who survives. Kevin was an employee of R. Miller Excavating and Hardcore Construction Company in Columbus, Indiana and also had previously worked at Force Construction Company in Columbus, Indiana. He loved to play the drums, watch NASCAR and go hunting and fishing. Kevin also enjoyed riding motorcycles and was an Indianapolis Colts fan. Survivors include his companion of 18 years, Becky Stewart of Columbus, Indiana; a son, Joseph Neal Isom of Scottsburg, Indiana; his mother and stepfather, Kathy and Curtis Roy of Seymour, Indiana; a brother, Travis Smith of Scottsburg, Indiana; a half brother, Clint Smith of Kent, Indiana; a stepsister, Jill Roy (Carlos) of Spain; a niece, Jessica Roy and nephew, Trevor Smith. A Celebration of Kevin's Life will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with cremation requested following his service. Services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate.
