Lawrence E. "Slick" Sweet, 51, passed away on May 29, 2024, in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on October 12, 1972, in Scottsburg, Indiana to the late Irven Sweet, Jr. and Ruby (Fluhr) Sweet. On September 21, 2013, Slick married Tonya Weedman and she proceeded him in death on March 16, 2022. Slick held a deep passion for the outdoors, frequently indulging in hunting, fishing, and camping activities. His love for nature was shared with his grandchildren, whom he adored spending time with and sharing the wonders of the wilderness. In addition to his parents and wife, Tonya, Slick is preceded in death by one brother, Irven Sweet, III and two sisters Rebecca Campbell and Penny Lee Sweet. He is survived by two sisters, Mary (Alfred) Palmer of Austin, Indiana and Elizabeth Snelling of Scottsburg, Indiana; one brother, Robert "Bob" (Connie) Green of Elizabeth, Indiana; two stepdaughters, Loretta (Joseph) Hall and Joanna (Robert Dean) Williams; and three grandchildren, Robert "Bobbles" Hart Dean III, Gavin Michael Lee Dean, and Marcus Williams. In addition, Slick is survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral Service for Lawrence Sweet will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, 1:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 11:00 am until time of services at Collins Funeral Home.
