Lee A. Bowen, 88, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022, at his residence. He was born on June 28, 1933 in Underwood, Indiana. Lee was the loving son of the late Lee Emery Bowen and Anna Elizabeth (Collins) Bowen. On February 19, 1953 Lee married the love of his life Mary Lou (Bixler) Bowen, who passed away January 1, 2017. He served in the United States Air Force for 14 years and was very proud to serve his country. Lee was retired from Haas Cabinet Company in Sellersburg, Indiana where he worked as a truck driver for over 20 years. Additionally, he drove for Richey and Stewarts Trucking Company in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was a member of the Safe Harbor Christian Church in Memphis, Indiana and member of the Scottsburg American Legion post # 234. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Bowen; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Bowen; and brother, William Theodore "Tiny" Bowen. Survivors include his daughter, Janie (Bert) Rice of Scottsburg, Indiana; his four sons, Gary L. (Linda) Bowen of Louisville, Kentucky, Ron L. (Susie) Bowen of Martinsville, Indiana, Jerry L. (Candy) Bowen of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Donnie L. (Theresa) Bowen of Scottsburg, Indiana; nine grandchildren, J.R., Lee (Heather), Bud (Magan), Lisa (Danny), Leigh Ann (Kenny), Bradley, Carson, Adrian and Scotty (Justine); thirteen great grandchildren, Travis, Briar, Audrea, Lauren, Colin, Jake, Preston, Parker, Addison, Alex, Aiden, Caleb and Hailee; and brother, Ward Bowen of Scottsburg, Indiana. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Collins Funeral Home with Chaplain T. C. Baker officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Interment at Pigeon Roost Cemetery in Underwood, Indiana.
