There will be a Celebration of Life with a Military Honors Ceremony being at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 22nd from 12-4pm at the Sons of Italy Lodge, 31 Prospect Ave, Geneva, NY for friends and family to attend. Leonard was born on June 12, 1971, in Nuremburg, Germany, the son of Leonard Kenneth Clay Jr. and Linda (Horner) Clay. Leonard possessed three passions in life – the sacredness of his family, the spirit of sports, and the love of his country. Leonard volunteered to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army on October 2, 1990, and retired, after several reenlistments, on May 5, 2021, as a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army National Guard. While serving his country, Leonard earned numerous military awards to include the Expert Infantry Badge, several Army Commendation Medals and the Calvary Stetson & Spurs while also serving multiple deployments to Somalia, Ukraine, and Afghanistan. Leonard was an avid sports enthusiast with his love and allegiance to the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Dallas Cowboys and the Cincinnati Reds. He was a dedicated and respected employee of Lehigh Hanson Incorporated for eighteen years. Above all, Leonard valued and loved his family. On June 16, 2018, he married his best friend and soul mate Angela Johnson-Clay. Leonard is survived by his wife Angela Johnson-Clay of Scottsburg, Indiana; mother Linda Clay of Ludlow Falls, Ohio; daughter Elizabeth Clay of Geneva, New York; son Leonard K. Clay, IV of Geneva, New York; stepson Isaiah Johnson of Scottsburg, Indiana; and brother Mike Clay of Ludlow Falls, Ohio.
