IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leslie Deen Sherron
Lucas
January 9, 1960 – June 25, 2025
Leslie Dee "Les" Lucas, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, peacefully departed this life on June 25, 2025, at the age of 65. He was born on January 9, 1960, in Scottsburg, Indiana to George M. Lucas, Sr. and Marjorie Walker Lucas, who have preceded him in death. Les embraced life with an infectious enthusiasm that inspired all who had the privilege to know him.
Les graduated from Scottsburg High School, class of 1978, and dedicated a significant portion of his life to the family business, where he cultivated deep-rooted connections within the community. After retiring, he found joy in his work at Home Depot in Seymour, which opened up new opportunities and friendships. Les' unwavering commitment to service also led him to become an active member of the Scottsburg Moose Lodge and the American Legion.
On September 6, 1996, Les married his cherished partner, Shannon Michelle Brown. Together they built a life filled with love and adventure, raising two wonderful children: Quinton and Alexis. His family was the heart of his existence, and his love for them was profound. Les was a remarkable storyteller and an oracle of useless knowledge who brought warmth and laughter to every conversation, never meeting a stranger.
A true enthusiast of life, he had an avid passion for shooting pool and antique collecting, pursuits that brought him immense joy. He relished weekends spent boating at Dale Hollow Lake and treasured his travels to Mexico. He was a connoisseur of fine cigars and good margaritas. Les' larger-than-life personality made him a beloved figure in his family and circle of friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Shannon, his son, Quinton Johnson and his significant other, Sarah Finch and his daughter, Alexis (Lucas) Eastman and her husband, Nolan, his brothers George Lucas, Jr. and his wife Sue, and Patrick Lucas and his wife, Jan as well as many nieces and nephews, who will forever hold his memory close.
Friends and family are welcome to gather to share stories, laughter, and fond memories of a man who truly lived life to the fullest beginning at 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Collin's Funeral Home.
