Obituary

Lester Smith, 74, of Lexington, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at The Waters of Scottsburg in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on May 14, 1947 in Thompson, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Ralph and Edna (Avery) Smith. Lester graduated from God's Bible School in Cincinnati. On August 16, 1968 he married Naomi (Helton) Smith, who passed away on January 15, 2009. He was a mechanic and journeyman for many years. Lester was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Austin, Indiana and loved God and his church. He loved his family and being around his grand kids. In his spare time Lester loved to fish and hunt and was an avid NASCAR fan. In addition to his parents and wife, he is also preceded in death by his son, Bradley Smith. His survivors include two daughters, Joetta (Michael) Brown of Borden, Indiana and Jacinda (Donald) Monroe of Lexington, Indiana; son, Brian Keith Smith of Madison, Indiana; two sisters, Edith Utz and Ruth Moulton; brother, Floyd Smith; eleven grandchildren, Chris, Megan, Skylar, Isabella, Jessica, Kristen, John, Andrew, Ashley, Aubrey, and Chase; and five great grandchildren, Serenity, Mia, Rylan, Layla, and Kaden. Funeral Service: 11:00 am Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Pilgrim Holiness Church in Austin, Indiana. Officiated by Rev. Mike Brown. Visitation: 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, August 9, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, Indiana.
